I live about 4 miles from a regional airport and lots of times a hear a "digital" noise in with both the tower and ground transmissions. I don't hear it on any other frequencies and I hear it on both the ground and aircraft side. I'm not an aviation listener so I had to search around to figure out it's ACARS. I noticed that the Oakland simulcast has several "site neighbors" such as the Wayne County simulcast site. When I switch to Wayne simulcast, I never hear any traffic from the Oakland county system. It would appear that some arrest/patrol/ERO teams are using Zello on Android while on operations rather than the systems and frequencies they have access to on their APX's.
