Analog performance and audio quality with the SDS100 has always been disappointing. I passed on the SDS150 for now and bought a Unication G5 which has excellent audio. I’ve noticed this comes up not just with casual listening, but also when people are using radios more as a coordination or monitoring tool (events, team activities, emergency/weather monitoring, etc.). I wanted to install a Motorola UHF radio but all the connectors on the end of the coax were BNC not mini UHF. Instead of having to buy speciality tools and probably messing up the first time I tried, I decided to take it to a local shop who I guess is a Motorola service center.
