I know General Dynamics suggests the UVU-100 or PRC-113 compatibles like the MPMP100X4, but I can't find either anywhere. Are there alternative donkey/whip antennas that I'm not thinking about? I know I could just slap on a dual band slim jim, but that ruins the aesthetic (yes, really) and I want to keep it in a portable configuration. Spec: 115 to 400 MHz. BNC-F w/ 3/4"-16 threaded sleeve. 10 watt output. View article »

The first scanner I bought was the Radio Shack Pro-90 way back in the day, so I've been at this for a while now. I've owned mostly Uniden scanners, with the occasional GRE thrown in there, too. All GMRS freq. only ch. 1-7 tx and rx. low and High power all work all others only RX... when I key up on other chanels the radio turns off, When I release key it comes back like turning on pwr with the welcome messages. this happens regardless of wide / narrow band or Hi/ low power this does not seem to make sence to me I dont want to fry the radio by keying up (reseting ) the radio so much...
