Is it possible, or wise, to buy an actual handheld railroad radio for railfan use? Are they even sold to hobbyists? I would want a way to disable the PTT button because I wouldn't want to accidentally hit it and cause issues. I know the BNSF uses ICOM radios here in Iowa. I have been receiving calls on SaiaNet from the Seneca One Tower site for a couple years, and all of a sudden a couple weeks ago, I stopped receiving transmissions. (It worked again for a few hours about a week ago. I didn't change anything.) I've since tried reseting the SDS, the SD card, erasing all favorites lists, deleting and reinstalling Sentinel and ProScan, etc, etc. I'm in Erie County scanning everything else just fine.
