02-09-26 KPG-D1N unable to read radio due to functions I was trying to read the current programming off of an NX-5200K3, but was met with the following error message: The data cannot be read from this transceiver because... 02-09-26, 09:47 am I was trying to read the current programming off of an NX-5200K3, but was met with the following error message: The data cannot be read from this transceiver because the data includes a function which cannot be configured with this FPU. I can read the transceiver information and product information just fine. I am assuming that the problem may lie within the KPG-D1N license I have, but I cannot find any information from Kenwood on the subject. My other thought is this particular radio... The owner is using a Motorola MICOR repeater and MODAT signaling. The repeater is programed to only transmit if it receives MODAT signaling from a mobile unit and ignores all other traffic, tones, and signaling types. I realize many urban areas in CA encrypt their law enforcement communications, but being a real beginner to all this, I cannot discern whether San Clemente PD, the Orange County Sheriff's dept., and CHP down here are encrypted or not.
