I went out to the car, disconnected the current radio and plugged this one in. Turned it to "band D", chan. 19, which is "regular" channel 19 for truckers. Antenna in. Turned it on, nothing. After I set proscan back up, I plugged the same aux cable into both the record jack on the scanner, and the mic jack on my pc, and the audio is very distorted for some reason, I didnt have this problem before. I have a tower desktop. I've swapped the aux cord between the front mic jack and the back one, I already checked if I plugged it into the record jack, took out and reinserted the aux cable, and I even swapped it with a different one. One brand of a reproduction antenna cable was made using 3c-2v cable which I learned was a cheaper type of coax. While AM is hardly glamorous I might upgrade the radio some day and besides I don't like the thought of using a poor quality part independent of radio.
