My question is there any settings I can do to prevent Microsoft from seeing it and upgrading it against my consent. If I just never let it see the 'net, will I have nothing to worry about? Have these channels scanning constantly. Have each channel in the zone assigned to a certain identical p25 talkground, to filter out other traffic. There is voice traffic on the channel when available, but it seems the squelch doesn't close (if that is the issue?) and the channel just hangs. We no longer answer incoming calls, not ever, because of the volume of spam. We use our cell phones instead. The reason we've kept the landline was the idea that in a catastrophic event (like earthquake, I'm in California) with power and cell towers unavailable, we'd have a shot at using the landline for communication.
