I would like to mount a 2m/70cm antenna to the cap so that I don't have to drill a hole in an expensive truck. I don't think the cap is electrically grounded to the truck chassis, although I could probably run a pigtail to make that happen. In this case, is the truck and cap a unified grounding plane, or just the cap? For best results, can I mount the antenna near the front edge of the cap, or should it be in the... When scan is turned on, the... 06-15-25, 17:48 pm I've recently noticed a bit of an odd behaviour with a VP8000 on a DMR T2 system. The system is set up with a Priority Scan list (not RWS). When scan is turned on, the radio won't unmute for traffic unless the Monitor button is used. If parked on a channel with traffic, the indicator LED goes green, but no RSSI bars appear. Holding down Monitor unmutes traffic for the correct TG, and pulls the right Unit ID out of the call. Turning Scan off solves the problem immediately (behaves as... Read more View article »

The scanner randomly goes offline for a variety of reasons. Sometimes I just need to reconnect it in Proscan (even though I have the automatically reconnect box checked). Sometimes I have to shutdown the ProScan software and restart it. Sometimes I have to reboot the scanner itself, and sometimes I have to reboot the computer that has the ProScan software on it.
