This morning they have assigned EMS calls to a new talkgroup label EMS 8 and EMS 9, a call was also assigned to Fire 11. Additionally an Auto Alarm call was worked on Fire 4, which had previously been the FD EMS channel. This is new and fluid at this time. Sounds like they are escorting a very important person around town, particularly on the north side of town around Newtown Pike. Anybody know who might be in town? I saw that the Vice President is in Kentucky, but all the news sources claim he's in the western part of Kentucky visiting Fort Campbell, so I doubt it's him in Lexington. View article »

There are about 3 spots in my city with cell towers that block the signal of a 700mhz trunked system I monitor. I get up to maybe 1200 feet away from any one of the towers and the control channel signal just drops completely. It happens on my 436 with my vhf antenna and my 700-900 mhz antenna. Doesn't have to be a world beater on SW, it will be connected to an effective external antenna sor AM listening mainly. The radios with push pull tubes are supposed to sound the best, but not required. I would like it to have an internal speaker, and it will be a candidate for restoration, something like a Halli S-120 or S-85, or a NC-88 or NC-183... what would you pick? View article »

RR db doesn't show the freq/NAC in its paid search google says its the analog input to a Johnson co TN sheriff input freq FCC advanced search doesn't show anything that i can link to it because i don't know the area. anyone local know what this freq is, at least back...
