I understand there is no real privacy but I don't want to hear people outside our property. I have tried using CHIRP setting tones and sql and any other settings Google, (yeah, I hear ya) told me. Note: I am using baofeng uv-5r radios. (Yes I am aware they are not technical "legal" for MURS.) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. View article »
11-21-25 Antenna ID I was given these 2 antennas with no info about what they are. One is a standard NMO mount, the other came with a magnetic base that isn't NMO. On our APX and XTS portable radios we choose which of the two TG's (Fire or EMS) to get alerts for - we can't choose both. This isn't always ideal, since we do generally respond on both types of calls. Doesn't have to be a world beater on SW, it will be connected to an effective external antenna sor AM listening mainly. The radios with push pull tubes are supposed to sound the best, but not required. I would like it to have an internal speaker, and it will be a candidate for restoration, something like a Halli S-120 or S-85, or a NC-88 or NC-183... what would you pick? View article »

It will also send GPS data from the phone to the scanner for location based scanning. I made it mainly for me to use while driving.
